Three years ago when Sacred Sounds Women's Choir was formed as part of MIF13 no one would have predicted that three years later the women would be performing at the Centro de Arte Moderna (CAM) in the beautiful capital city of Portugal. Thanks to the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation this dream became a reality!
The choir were invited to perform as part of the Foundation's 60th Anniversary Festival taking place throughout the month of June and showcasing a diverse programme of world music.
Thirty-three members of the choir travelled over to Lisbon to take part in this very special event, representing Sacred Sounds Women's Choir through a 60 minute performance to an audience of over 200 people.
This opportunity will be remembered by all choir members as a very special moment for Sacred Sounds. Thank you to all at Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (UK branch and Lisbon HQ) and to all those who came to see the show and made the choir so welcome during their time in Lisbon.
